About John

Hi. My name is John Huldt. I'm originally from Sweden but have called Los Angeles home since 2006. I have about 15 years experience teaching and I also hold a teaching position at the Los Angeles College for Music. I teach all ages from 7 and up and all levels and most styles. My teaching philosophy is that if the student doesn't understand something, it's always the teachers fault and I individualize every lessons to each student.

I've always enjoyed sharing knowledge with people and just as I learn from other, I like to pass some of it on in return.

About 22 year of playing and about 18 years of teaching. I've taught at various music schools in Sweden and USA (most notable LA College for Music in Pasadena)

About the lesson

First, figuring out what the student wants! Some just want to learn to play their favorite songs. Some want to be the best guitar player in the world. Everyone is different so every lesson is different. Most important for me is that you are having fun!

Youngest was 5. Older 63. So, pretty wide range. The love for music is universal.

Find someone that you jel with and listens to you. It's important to remember that it's all about the student. The job for the teacher is to figure out the best way to get information across as easily as possible.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Just make sure the teacher is interested in what YOU want. I don't think a set "one fits all" formula is very effective when you're dealing with something creative. Just make sure you're on the same page and you should be fine.
