About Laura

Hello! My name is Laura. I think you would love taking lessons with me- A little bit about my own background in music: my parents are musicians and music teachers as well so I have been taking music lessons since the day I was born practically, and studied with over 20 different professional vocal coaches. In high school I was in 4 separate choirs and an a capella group simultaneously, and in 2011 I started teaching private music lessons myself, teaching multiple after school music classes at local schools, and directing local choral groups and bands. After high school I attended Musician’s Institute for a degree in vocal performance and music theory. I have assisted and worked for many musicians and producers. I myself have performed in over 100 musical concerts, as well as recorded and released my own music. I am well versed in singing all types of music and genres, and something that I like to focus on in my lessons as well is performance and stage practice. In working with me at The Dave Curtis Music Academy, students also have access to many opportunities to play, write, and collaborate with other artists and students who also share a passion for music, as well as opportunities to participate in group/band practices and performances. If you are a singer/songwriter we also have a full production studio.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons offered by Laura are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Los Angeles. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
