David was clear on the need to work on several areas if I wanted to get deeper into acoustic blues guitar: build repertoire, work on theory and apply it to the fret board, technique, and so forth. He pointed me to resources and talked through terms that confused me. He also let me set the agenda on what we worked on; he also made backing tracks for me to practice along with.

He was flexible in terms of scheduling times and just an overall good fellow in that I'm an adult learner and need time to let new things fit into existing knowledge.
