About Matt

I have been playing guitar since I was 13 and making music long before that with whatever was at hand. I have played guitar and sang in a handful of local bands in numerous venues in and around the Worcester, MA area since the late 90's and recently started playing solo acoustic shows as well.

I have always loved making music and love teaching others how to learn to express what they're hearing in their head on their instrument and just enjoying the ability to create music.

I can customize lessons for what you want to learn. I want to keep it interesting for you and keep you motivated to continue to practice toward the goals you want to accomplish musically.

I love playing guitar and singing and music in general. And I love teaching. It is very satisfying to help other people to learn and improve their skills.

I have been playing guitar and singing since I was a teenager. I have been in a number of successful bands playing various venues in and around the Worcester, MA area.

About the lesson

I like to talk to the student and discuss what they would like to accomplish musically and assess where their skill level is currently - from total beginner to advanced. Then we can put together a lesson plan that will build on any knowledge they currently have and focus on learning and improvement with lessons that keep the student engaged, interested, focused and motivated to continue the lifelong process of learning music.

Not all teachers teach in the same way. Some want you to learn their method. The same thing doesn't always work for all people. My philosophy is geared more toward figuring out what you want out of the guitar and music in general and help you work toward those goals. And as you learn more those goals may change. We can always adapt.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Definitely think about where you want to be on guitar in 6 months, a year, 5 years . . . Do you just want to learn for your own amusement in your living room, being able to strum a few songs? Or are you looking to have a career in music and want to learn all the skills necessary for a life as a professional musician? Or anywhere in between. You need to know what you want to be able to get it.
