About Dennis

Hello, my name is Dennis Whitt and I grew up playing folk music. I teach folks like you who want to learn folk guitar but are frustrated by the focus on rock music in most guitar classes. If it’s folk guitar lessons you want, now there’s no need to compromise. I offer one-on-one lessons over the Internet, at times that are convenient to you, no matter where you happen to live.

Folk Music is a subject very near and dear to my heart. I grew up playing guitar and listening to Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and many other prominent folk guitarists from that era. The fact that I get to teach my students how to play classic 60s folk songs like "Blowing in the Wind" and "Scarbourogh Fair" along with great songs from the 70s by James Taylor and Jim Croce gives me great pleasure. If you want to be able to play fingerstyle guitar then learning to play these songs will sure get you there!

About the lesson

Guitar lessons offered by Dennis are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Millstone. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
