About James

Here at UBG Music School, we offer private Guitar & Singing lessons, and much more, for beginners to advanced. We use a common sense approach to our teaching.

We look forward to helping you reach your goals. Call (concealed information) musicschoolubg.com guitarlessons4u.com guitarlessonsmusic.com

I'm a trained Musician (Private Lessons) and have been Studying & Teaching for over 37 years. I've taught, Recorded & Played everywhere from small to large venues from NJ, NY to CA and back, so you get all that culture and experience in every Lesson you take. All Lessons are done at UBG Music School, located in North Brunswick, NJ which I am the Owner and Head Teacher at the School, UBG Music School. I do offer Lessons online as well, if for some reason it's more convenient for you. I've taught all over the Country and the world, from Montana to Florida, from North Carolina to California, from Canada to Dubai, from Korea to Bahrain. All Lessons are Designed for the Student to help them reach their goals, but they are based on my approach of training you to be a professional musician. I recommend doing 60-minute lessons, The reason I recommend 60 minutes is that you'll need 20 minutes to review what you had as homework, 20 minutes of being tested with Music theory, then 20 minutes of learning something new. I Guarantee you'll learn more studying with me in 3 months, then you will with anyone else in a year. We start out with a plan for every student that is easy to understand, with a strong foundation, and a commonsense approach. I make adjustments based on the goals of each individual student in order to accommodate to their needs. The school is a Professional Recording studio that will be incorporated into the lessons if the student want to. It's used as a tool to help the student as they progress to be able to hear themself being recorded, and eventually you'll record the songs you are playing. Lots of Fun...........I look forward to helping you reach your Goals.....

Jimmy......

If you have any questions please feel free to just ask, ok thanks and I look forward to helping you reach your Goals.

I'm a trained Musician (Private Lessons) and have been Studying & Teaching for over 37 years. I've taught, Recorded & Played everywhere from small to Large venues from NJ, NY to CA and back. So you don"t just get the Lesson, You also get all that culture and experience along with it in every Lesson you take. All Lessons are done at UBG Music School, located in North Brunswick, NJ which I am the Owner and Head Teacher at the School. I do offer Lessons through Skype & Hangouts (Google) as well if for some reason it's more convenient for you. I Guarantee you"ll learn more studying with me in one year, then with anyone else around. I Pride myself in giving my student 100% my undivided attention in every Lesson. The School is equipped with a Class A Recording Studio (which I incorporate into the Lessons) so you not only get a Great Lessons but you'll also get the experience of working and being recorded in a Professional Recording Studio. You will learn a lot in a very short period of time, but you will also have a lot fun doing it as well. For The person interested in learning Guitar I'll teach you to Understand that you'll Develop Correctly, and Much Faster By always practicing on the Acoustic Guitar, and then if you'd like to go and play or perform on the Electric Guitar, you'll be 100% Better as a Musician then if you just played only on the Electric Guitar. That is a Key element to what all the Professionals Musicians like myself do. I no longer accept every other week lessons, only weekly lessons.
I have a 24 hour Cancellation policy, if I'm not notified within 24 hours of your lesson I will accept payment.
Thank you and I Look forward Helping you reach your goals.

About the lesson

I Start off by teaching the student the proper technique for that particular instrument. That means how you hold and play the instrument properly that is very important to advance so you don't run into any issues further down the road when you're developing.

I then will teach the student how to play chords how to strum chords how to pick out notes but also getting used to transitioning from one chord to another which is usually much more difficult in the very beginning that you just have to keep doing it over and over until you get better or smoother at it.

Then I will pick a song or songs that will be easy enough for this student to start to play and work on getting better and with each song we will keep adding on more and more.

Based on the individuals goals I will then also start to get into Music theory, this way as you're learning how music theory works along with why you're playing, and developing chords, and playing songs, you will learn the insight to understand music on a higher level of why it is you're playing certain chords together in certain songs so it makes more sense musically.

I've taught all kinds of students from the age of 10 years old, and up. From beginners to advanced.

I start out with a plan for every student that is easy to understand, with a strong foundation, and a commonsense approach. We make adjustments based on the goals of each individual student to accommodate to their needs. The school is a Professional Recording studio that will be incorporated into the lessons if the student wants to. It's used as a tool to help the student progress to be able to hear themselves being recorded, and eventually you'll record the songs you are playing. A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
That comes down to what do you want to achieve, and do you have the time to practice everyday.

Perfect! The classes at UBG are exactly what I was looking for in guitar instruction; the why (music theory) and the how (proper technique) behind what I want to play. At UBG I am learning to be a musician first. With that knowledge and proper technique; I am able to learn songs faster and to improvise on my own. Thanks Jimmy! Highly recommended.

I'm a fairly experienced singer. Been singing for over 20 years (rock band, acapella groups, acoustic solo shows) however I never took formal lessons. I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing damage to my voice and I was singing with proper technique and I have learned a great deal working with Jimmy. I realized how much I have to learn... Was kind of surprising actually. He's very patient and very knowledgeable and I would recommend him highly

I've been taking acoustic guitar lessons at UBG Music School for more than three years. The newly-remodeled studio has professional equipment for learning, playing, and recording. My teacher, also the school's owner, Jimmy, makes lessons fun yet challenging. He reteaches when necessary, and my weekly hour-long lessons fly by because Jimmy keeps it moving. I've been working on learning to play new songs for the past several months, and it's been great. But I want to go back to learning music theory again. Jimmy's teaching style is flexible, and he lets his students decide what they'd like to work on. I am an elementary school teacher and I recognize skilled teachers. That's what UBG provides. Whether you've just become interested in learning to play a musical instrument, or if you're already an accomplished musician, I highly recommend UBG Music School.
