About Matt

Teaching guitar from a feel and instinctive perspective, where thought is a secondary tool in the performance process as opposed to heavily relying on it.

Matt's experience comes from playing in almost every type of ensemble setting: rock bands, solo acoustic, live talk show band, jazz and big bands, concert ensembles, pit orchestras, studio sessions, self-recording, etc.

Matt has an Associate of Science degree in Audio Engineering from Full Sail University, and received a scholarship at 13 years old for music contributions to his parish community.

I love getting to share the thing I enjoy doing the most, and bringing that joy to someone else. Music has given me so much and now it's time to give back!

Being a guitarist and musician for over 20 years has enabled me to play with many talented musicians, in various venues and ensembles that are as musically diverse as the people that comprise them. I've worked with former X-Factor contestants, to major label artists, and performed on world famous stages like Whisky A Go-Go and The Troubadour.

About the lesson

Steer the student in the direction of forming a solid foundation of principles to build on, as well teaching music as a language in which there is space to really "play" and have fun at the same time.

I will ask the student what his/her interests are and focus on a method and curriculum which speaks to those interests.
