About Chris

Seeds of Music Academy provides high quality private lessons, innovative group classes, high production performance, and recording opportunities to students of all ages.

We believe music education is about amplifying each student’s love of music and providing them with tools to nurture that love so it continues to grow throughout their lives. Sometimes lessons can be dry and unmotivating; they can be very serious without providing a foundation that a musician can truly blossom from. In order to solve this, Seeds of Music places the love of music above all else as the means for both enrichment and musical mastery.

There is nothing more fulfilling than sharing the joy of music. For us, the reward of seeing a student's face light up when they master something they're passionate about is absolutley unbeatable.

The founder started teaching while in middle school so he could have more friends to jam with! He started teaching professionally while still in college, studying jazz guitar. A local music store needed a new teacher to take on some of their students and reached out to him based on his reputation.

All of our teachers have at least a 4 year degree in music and/or extension music industry experience. All have been teaching for over 10 years.

About the lesson

We start out by learning about about the student's musical interests and background. Then we discuss their goals and build a plan for the most enjoyable and inspiring way to get their.

We work with students of all ages and backgrounds; however, some instruments can be unnecessarily challanging if the student is still developing their motor skills. For example, some students can start on guitar as early as 5, but many are better off waiting a few years. Our teachers assess this on an individual basis. On the other end of the spectrum, it's never too late to start! We've had students start in their 70s and experience their first recitals ever!

Look for a teacher who is interesting getting to know your own musical goals and learning style.

We recently had one of our student rock bands play on a float at the Danville 4th of July Parade. It was an amazing opportunity for students to perform for tens of thousands of people!

For most of our teachers, lessons are $45 per half hour, paid monthly.
