About John

My name is Adam Stapleton, a private music teacher serving the greater Ann Arbor area, and I have a passion for helping people young and old build confidence in their musical voice, both literally and instrumentally! I provide patient, tailored instruction in a multitude of instruments and styles.

Why go through the hassle of going across town to a studio when you can have the studio come to you? Stapletones Music Lessons is the only Private lessons teacher in the Ann Arbor area specializing in personalized in-home music lessons. So stop driving, and start playing!

I got my start teaching for a private music school called Texas Guitarville in the DFW area. I spent 5 years teaching there!

I went to school for music at Richland college, though I didn't finish, the skills and knowledge from those years have helped me be successful over the past 4 years of music teaching!

About the lesson

I tend to start at square one with a new student. If the student has previous experience, I'll assess their skill, and move forward from there. If the student is a total beginner, then I will start them with the basics of building hand strength, familiarizing them with the fret board, and getting callouses developed. From there we will work our way to basic chords, rhythms, and learning songs!

I've worked with every age type ranging from 7 to 70! My style is adaptable to any learning style.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Why are you wanting to pick up the instrument? Its good to think through your "why" before you jump into learning, it just helps you push through the hard times and mundane parts of learning an instrument.
