About Charles

I received my BA from Georgetown University and my Masters in Teaching from Lewis and Clark. I have over 20 years of experience teaching social studies, with an emphasis on AP and IB courses (AP U.S. History, AP World, AP Human Geography, AP US & Comparative Government; IB History/Europe and Americas). I also enjoy teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL certificate).

I enjoy helping students develop effective methods for learning social studies content and am especially committed to helping improve the skills for these classes (effective reading, note taking, analysis, writing). I have experience working with middle school starting in Grade 6 and through advanced high school students preparing for end of year exams.

Students from the US, China, Brazil, Mexico and many other countries have benefited and improved their scores after working with me. I’m patient, prepared, and fully aware that social studies can be challenging and even frustrating - I'm here to help.

About the lesson

Health and social sciences lessons offered by Charles are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Sacramento. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
