About Kyle

History, wether your teacher/professor acts like it, is fun. Its a collection of stories and events that have shaped the world we live in today. Learning history, however, is sometimes tedious and often includes being tested an endless list of names, places, and dates. But history, at its core, is a story - a facinating story that explains how and why we are here today.

If you take tutoring sessions from me, I'll help you understand the story, find ways to connect it to your interests, and ensure you never mix up a date or name on a test again!

I've been a history tutor since I was in high school - mainly among my friends or classmates. Seeing someone I teach have the "lightbulb moment" where everything makes sense brings me joy.

I started tutoring friends in high school to get through some AP history courses. In college I did the same with my rugby teammates, fraternity brothers, and other friends.

History minor at George Washington University. I've taken classes across ancient, medieval, renaissance, and modern history with excellent results. I also recieved 5s on AP World History, AP US History, and AP comparative government and understand how the AP tests work and how to game them.

About the lesson

I first establish goals with my student and determine what they want out of hiring a tutor. Then we review the material that's causing the issue. After that we will work on not just memorizing facts and dates but understanding the causes and impacts these events had. Finally I'll test the student's knowledge in the vein of how the class will test the material

I've worked with high school and college level students.

Find someone who not only fits your needs from an academic perspective but also someone who you enjoy learning from. Everyone's teaching style is different so even though someone might know everything you need to learn, doesn't mean the way they present it will work for you.
