About Nicholas

I am a young, enthusiastic teacher and learner. I am one semester from graduating from college with my Bachelor's degree in History and a minor in Creative Writing. I have been tutoring students since I was one myself in high school. I absolutely love history and work very well with others, helping them learn and understand the material.

I love working with people and watching them learn and progress. I have a passion for teaching history and I hope to pass on some of my enthusiasm to my students.

My guidance counselor approached me in high school and asked me to begin tutoring students who were struggling. Ever since then, I have loved being someone that others can turn to for acadmic advice, help, and encouragement.

I am a senior in college majoring in history. I have been tutoring students since I was a sophomore in high school.

About the lesson

I will ask them some questions about who they are. I will share a bit about myself. I will learn about the material they are being introduced to and I will ask them what about it they feel like they are struggling with. From there, I will help my student with whatever they are finding difficult by explaining it in a way I think will best fit their learning style.

High school and college students

I would advise a prospective student to make sure they choose a teacher that they are comfortable with and enjoy spending time with. Learning feels much less like a chore and a bore when you are doing it with someone that makes the material interesting.

Last spring, I wrote a 25 page research paper on the progression of the Feminist Movement and how it related to and impacted the commissioning of the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin in 1979.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think students should find out what the teacher knows about the subject they are struggling with and how the teacher tutors in order to see if it's a right fit.
