About Matthew

I am a commercial litigation attorney in Naples, Florida. In my spare time, I enjoy tutoring students, looking to apply to law school, in the Law School Admission Test ("LSAT"). I bring unique insight as an LSAT tutor as my experience in the legal field allows me to use the skills I have learned and refined over the years to pinpoint a student's strengths and weaknesses in working to improve the student's performance on the LSAT.

The success of my students is at the heart of everything that I do. I truly enjoy the opportunity to teach and mentor students in the LSAT. There is nothing quite like seeing a student put in the work, put the methods we develop in practice and, ultimately, achieve improvemement on the LSAT.

I started teaching by seeking students to tutor in the LSAT. Upon my commencement of tutoring, I realized that I have a true passion for assisting aspiring law school students to improve their LSAT scores and performance.

I have a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law. I have been practicing commercial litigation for the past five years. I also currently tutor one aspiring law student in the LSAT. This student has seen tremendous improvement since we started working together. All of these experiences have helped me tremendously in developing and fine-tuning my tutoring skills.

About the lesson

My typical process in working with a new student is to schedule an introductory session with the student to learn about the student's current level, strengths, weaknesses, and to discuss any other item the student may believe is important in developing our working relationship. From that point forward, I create an individualized strategy plan and schedule to ensure the student is able to track his or her success, can see concrete improvements, and is able to adjust the plan as needed moving forward based on the student's individual performance.

I have worked with aspiring law school students as an LSAT tutor.

I would advise a student looking to hire an LSAT tutor to perform his or her research prior to retaining an LSAT tutor. It is very important that a student match well with his or her tutor and that they are both of the same mindset in terms of strategy and what approach to take in tutoring the student.

A recent event I am fond of is my tutoring of a currently aspiring law school student in the LSAT. I have learned very much throughout this process, and it has been a true pleasure to see the student's improvement and gained confidence.

A student should certainly look to and research a potential tutor's background and experience. A student should find out about the tutor's rate, the tutor's tutoring style, and other areas which may impact the relationship between the tutor and the student.

My current rate as an LSAT tutor is $200 per hour. This rate takes my law school experience, current experience working as a commercial litigator, and current tutoring demands into account.
