About Lindsey

I am a newly certified elementary education teacher, but I have degrees in both science and math. I am willing to find creative, new ways to help you learn.

I love teaching because education itself betters you as a person. I believe that no one should have to struggle and be left behind in the classroom. Just because you do not understand the material that is being taught in the classroom doesn't mean you can never understand it.

I have very extensive training in education. I started my senior year in high school as a peer helper. This is where we went to our local elementary school and worked one on one with struggling students. After graduation, I then moved on to teach boys gymnastics at that same elementary school. I did this for about four years until I began picking up more classes in college. College took up most of my time after that so I was forced to quit boys gymnastics so that I could focus solely on my college education. In college I did two years of student teaching in various elementary grades. My curriculum required me to have an abundance of hours each semester being in an elementary school classroom setting. I am currently continuing to teach as I am picking up various long term substitute jobs. I would like to have my own classroom as I have a passion to teach and help students learn, but being a December graduate makes that difficult.

About the lesson

I like to get to know the student so that I can pinpoint their learning style. This enables me to find new creative ways to teach the material that they are having trouble with. I want to make learning fun and effective.

Details

I will price lessons based on their frequency and their subject level. For example, if you need help in elementary math long term I may charge $10 an hour rather than if you need help with just one lesson I may charge $15 an hour. Another example, concerning subject level, would be I may charge $15 an hour for elementary math while for calculus I may charge $20 an hour because of the difficulty level and more in depth explanations.
