About Julia
I graduated from Emmanuel College with a degree in Mathematics and Graphic Design in 2018. During my time there, I was a peer tutor for 3 years in various courses ranging from College Algebra, Calculus, and Real Analysis. With my additional degree in design, I was able to create a dialogue with the tutees that helped them approach problems different ways when they got stuck and think about math past just the right answer. I also have experience working with children ages 5-12 and adults with disabilities.
Math is a subject that many students struggle with and they shut down when they can't determine the right answer. My favorite part about being a tutor is moving past that barrior and helping them find more meaning in math than they originally saw. Seeing their confidence in their math ability grow is what I enjoy most about being a tutor.
