About Xiyun

I have two years of teaching experience in high school Algebra I and Geometry. I have a Bachelor's degree in secondary education in mathematics. I also have 6 years of experience in tutoring k-high school prior to teaching. I plan on helping students achieve their goals by getting to know each individual and their different learning styles. I am a strong believer in that everyone has their interest and unique way of learning. It's my passion to help others learn in their unique learning style.

I have been passionate about helping others since high school. I started tutoring elementary age kids and my friends as a high schooler. I enjoy showing people different ways to solve a problem or helping others learn in a way that they enjoy. I enjoy seeing the moment it clicks for people and when they finally understand something they've been struggling with.

I started tutoring elementary aged students since high school, I have also helped my friends many times in math classes. I got started with teaching because I enjoyed seeing that I helped others understand materials they were struggling with.

I have two years of teaching High School mathematics.

I have a bachelor's degree in secondary education in mathematics.

I have six years of tutoring experience prior to teaching.

I have tutored college students in college algebra.

About the lesson

My typical process for working with a new student is to get to know them a little. I want to know how they learn best, their interest, any learning barriers or challenges they may have. Then I want to know their goals, what do they want to achieve in the time we have together and how are they going to achieve it. We would set a time frame for that goal and re-evaluate in a timely manner.

I have worked with kindergarten- high school students. I have also tutored college students who are in college algebra classes.

It's okay to not know something right away. It is completely okay to ask someone for help and ask questions.
