About Zene

I enjoy helping others by making learning materials easier to understand. It started with helping a friend with ADHD with basic chemistry and I learned I'm better at learning when I can break it down enough for others to understand.

I enjoy seeing my students feel better about learning once they start to understand the subject they learn about. I also feel self-satisfaction because if one can teach a subject, the ability to remember it is stronger.

A friend of mine was struggling in our chemistry class and told me she was spending entire days off working on the homework because online chemistry is hard when no one is around to explain everything right away. I reached out and offered to help, and my friend started texting me problems and I would reply with steps to solve it.

I've also assisted in physical fitness with friends, but I'm no personal trainer. I am simply a guide and a motivator in that field.

I'm currently studying to get my Associates in Biological Sciences, and as I continue my own studies, the subjects I will feel most comfortable tutoring in will increase.

I also mentored in high school for underclassmen and enjoy helping others learn in my job as a pharmacy technician for insurance.

About the lesson

If I believe I am well suited to tutor a student, I will continue to reach out and ensure they feel the same way before continuing the process. I will ask for the class syllabus to prepare my own materials for tutoring and communicate with the student to best understand how they absorb concepts.

Mostly students with ADHD and dyslexia. They have been older than myself, adults going back to school, and younger, gifted students who didn't know how to study once college came along.

My chemistry student went from getting 60%'s on her quizzes to a 79%. She was screaming over text about how excited she was.

Details

I'm not a certified tutor and I still work full time while attending school half-time. I like to start my rates around $20-25 an hour and as I get more time and experience, rates will go up.
