About Kylie
I am an elementary school teacher, passionate about educating and student learning! I love teaching math as well as ELA, and would love to share that passion with students who need guidance or assistance. I have loads of experience creating meaningful and rich lesson plans to guide students understanding and learning in the right direction! I have a BA in Elementary Education from Michigan State University (named the best Education program in the world!) I majored in English, and have a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I taught in Chicago Public Schools this school year in a fourth grade classroom, although I have experience teaching all age groups! I am looking forward to continuing my passion for educating throughout the summer.
I have been passionate about education since I was young! I believe it is truly my lifes calling, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. I absolutely love getting to know all students and their interests, personalities, and passions! Each student is unique in their own way, and I love being able to see students succeed and grow in their own way. I love seeing students make connections and show their curiousity of the world we live in!

I like to get to know any new student I have on a personal level first. I ask about their passions, interests, family, etc. From there, I can tell what motivates them as a student, and I also feel more connected to the student! Following that, I will find the student's strengths and weaknesses, allowing me to move forward with planning and finding adequate tools and materials to help the student grow in the areas needed. I will use proper and helpful lesson planning strategies to find motivating topics for that particular student, while building and growing the areas that need support!
