About Sumit

I am an engineer by training and a management consultant by profession (having spent a career at 2 of the leading Firms in the world). I was a math & science whiz as a student and I ranked among the top 0.1% of the engineering aspirants at what is regarded as one of the toughest STEM tests in the world! Over the years, I have coached several students and, more importantly, my kids in the recent past to academic success.

The distinctive and highly impactful aspect of my teaching is to tailor the entire coaching approach to the individual student i.e., to not come in with a cookie-cutter style. This includes understanding 2 critical aspects of the learning process & tailoring the content and the time spent accordingly: a) the starting point for the student (i.e., strengths – where they are intuitively good at & weak points – specific areas of improvement) and b) the student’s way of processing and retaining information.

As stated above, I have had significant success in all my tutoring experiences and am confident to bring the same to you. Look forward to our interaction.

About the lesson

Remote working over zoom. 2 sessions of 90 mins each on the weekends (Sat and Sun morning). and 1-2 sessions during the week depending on the need.

In addition, the distinctive and highly impactful aspect of my teaching is to tailor the entire coaching approach to the individual student i.e., to not come in with a cookie-cutter style.

This includes understanding 2 critical aspects of the learning process & tailoring the content and the time spent accordingly: a) the starting point for the student (i.e., strengths – where they are intuitively good at & weak points – specific areas of improvement) and b) the student’s way of processing and retaining information.

Middle school and high school students.

And from a performance perspective: students who are looking to significantly improve their performance to acceptable grades, as also good students who were looking to excel at school.
