About Ida

I am flexible regarding my teaching styles to find the best way to help each unique student who finds me. I am relatively optimistic and bubbly so the ambiance of my lessons is pretty easy-going. Most importantly, I have lots of experience as I ran an entire tutoring system at my school last year and have tutored in my free time for the past couple of years.

I love to help others because I understand that it could be that extra hour and extra attention to that particular lesson to make all the difference on the path ahead. I also get to use all the knowledge I have accumulated over the years of being in school to help others succeed. Meeting new people and helping those who need it is a really enjoyable process so I hope that you aren't intimidated and reach out to me!

I have always enjoyed helping others and along with quarantine and high school graduation, I have more time on my hands to help more people.

I have helped my peers for as long as I can remember but for more professional experience, I was a teacher's assistant for an afterschool program at my school as well as a private summer school program for several years. I also ran a tutoring program at my high school and did private tutoring in my free time. Regarding Education, here's a general gist of my history with math (only for a better understanding of my qualifications, not boasting of any sorts): I skipped some math levels during middle school so I took Algebra in 6th grade, Geometry in 7th grade, Algebra 2 in 8th grade, etc. By senior year in high school, I finished Calculus AB and BC and was taking IB Math HL.

About the lesson

First, I will ask some questions to get a general understanding of what the student struggles with and what they understand so that I can create a learning plan that best suits them. This includes what math level they are in, how much time they usually spend on doing a certain problem, and whether they prefer the lesson with homework, classwork, or just homework help.

I have worked with a vast range of students from kindergarteners to sophomores in college. Don't be intimidated because of my age because regardless if I am older or younger as long as I fit your qualifications for a tutor, math level wise, I am pretty easy going and will make sure that my lessons are well-prepped for and understandable.

Other than being qualified skill-wise, look for a teacher who you can understand and who you can genuinely enjoy having lessons with because, trust me, learning new things, or reviewing lessons you didn't understand is a hard task on its own. Make it understandable and enjoyable so that you can continue your education and make the best of it. The best advice I can personally give is to try out a tutor a couple of times so that you know if their teaching style fits you and, if not, I'm sure that they won't be offended if you decide to switch tutors.

Are you willing to sacrifice your time to learn this topic?
(The teacher can only help you as much as you want to help yourself)
How much time are you willing to dedicate to improve?
(Learning can be a tedious process, with hours upon hours of practice. It will be worth it in the end, but only if you are genuinely wanting to improve during those hours rather than just watching the minutes tick by.)

I don't have a standard pricing system as I try to make my help as accessible and convenient for everyone. I usually discuss with the student and set the price after learning more about the student's needs. In a more detailed explanation, I consider hours per week, level of math, and the amount of extra help the student requires when setting a price.
