About Israel

I genuinely enjoy doing math work and worksheets so I would definitely enjoy being able to help anyone who is in need of a little bit of tutoring. The pay comes second to trying to teach math.

I love doing math in general but if I were to have a favorite it would be algebra. Doing any kind of math and filling out worksheets gives me satisfaction. Especially when I do it all in my head. I am happy to try and pass that on to whomever I tutor.

I started to tutor as volunteer work as I needed the hours in order to complete my IB/MYP requirements. I had fun being able to do math and also giving others an understanding of the concepts at hand.

The math classes I have taken throughout my highschool career are: Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3, and pre-calculus honors. These courses toughg me concepts from algebra all the way to beginners calculus. I passed all these classes with flying colors and had the option of taking multiple math AP classes but didn't due to personal reasons. I also have community service hours for tutoring during my freshman (2016-2017) and sophmore (2017-2018) years.

About the lesson

My process in working with a new student is always trying to figure out where exactly they need help and actively try to engage and encourage the student in actually wanting to learn about what they are doing. I would do this by having them solve a problem for me and I would go over any errors (if any) step by step with them. As I give them more problems I gain more of an understanding of how they personally solve things and more insight on how they think, allowing me to tutor more effectively.

The students I have worked with were all in either the same grades or higher grades as I was. This was back in my freshman and sophomore year of highschool and I would tutor underclassmen, my peers, and upperclassmen as well.

I do not have a standard pricing system. If I did I would price based on how confident and familiar I am with the content I will be teaching or helping with.
