About Jordan

I’m a former math teacher that not only graduated with a degree in math education, but I’ve also taught in the public school system for 4 years. In addition to that, I have been tutoring clients that ranged from 7 to 40+ years old for a number of years.

I started off doing some volunteer work with a non-profit group in the school system. As time went on I gradually made my way into the classroom.

-I graduated with a degree in math education - Taught honors and regular math at EVERY grade level in middle school

- Tutored kids ranging from 7 to adults in their 40’s.

- I have also taught kids and adults overseas.

About the lesson

My process fluctuates, depending on who my client is and what they want to accomplish. Some would just like help with their math homework. If that’s the case then I’ll just guide and support them until they feel confident doing their work with little to no assistance. Others may like me to help them either catch up to their target grade level or even to surpass it. I do remediation to help fill any gaps they have, while also bringing in little games/activities whenever feasible.

I’ve worked with a variety of students from Caucasian, to black, Islamic, Hispanic, kids, adults, etc. I’ve even tutored some kids who’s first language isn’t English.

I’ve started tutoring an 8 year old who just started 3rd grade a few weeks ago. He gets excited whenever I show up and always has some drawings to show me. I enjoy seeing him and helping him catch up to his peers academically.
