About David

It all started in my High School (Herricks) college calculus class. My professor always wanted me to be very involved and so it occured often that I would end up teaching the class practice problems, explaining and working through each problem that might have been assigned in the last few days. Then I went off to college (NCC & SBU) earning an A+ in my first Calculus course and finishing my degree in Mechanical Engineering with a 3.49 GPA. I love sharing my knowledge with others and explaining practically anything.

I enjoy seeing progress in my students. Once they overcome that hard time everyone always experiences at the beginning of a difficult subject, something clicks and they grow exponentially (no pun intended).

I found that teaching the subjects that I love not only provide me with a certain joy but also helps me stay sharp with my knowledge.

About the lesson

I like to get to know my students first. I'll start by sharing a little of my background and story, then inviting my student to share a little of theirs. Understanding the personality of my student makes it easier and more effective to teach or explain a concept.

I also like to always offer the possibility to ask questions at any moment to ensure the student is always following me.

Mostly Math or Science students in High School through College

Look for someone that you understand well. Comprehension is more important than qualifications. It might turn out that someone who doesn't even have a degree is able to answer your question better than someone with a PhD
