About Patricia

I have a passion for working with students, I have spent the past year working in Title 1 schools with City Year, an organization that strives to lower the achievement gap and solve the dropout crisis. I love helping students feel, and be, successful in the ways they want and need to be. I have experience working in the Orlando area with 9th grade students in Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, but I have been able to adapt my methods to 4th-grade students with a lot of success. I have been given a Statement of Eligibility by the FLDOE in Social Sciences grades 6-12. And I have a Bachelors's degree in Psychology from USF.

I have over 1500 hours of working with students both in the classroom and in an after-school environment. I have a statement of eligibility for a teaching certificate from the FLDOE. And I have a Bachelors's Degree in Psychology with a specific area of study in how people, especially students, learn and recall information.

About the lesson

The first thing I want to do is find out where the student feels the most, and least confident. Meet them where they are at, and help them move from a point of frustration or confusion to a feeling of success with a topic.
