About Amber
My understanding that learning is individual. Though we use research-based strategies in the classroom, there are always outliers or learners who need a different strategy to connect with the content. I am willing to use unpopular methods to bring students to understanding.
The moment when it "clicks." You can see it on the child's face that they have made the connection. What follows is a confidence boost that carries them to higher levels of understanding. The learning truly becomes their own.

Each student will begin with a diagnostic in the subject area to access their current level of understanding. Those results will be compared to the desired level of understanding set by the student and their family (if applicable). I will then build a lesson path from current level to desired level. Each lesson will normally follow the format of "I Do, We Do, You Do," where we will cover vocabulary, important concepts, and processes. Students will also be assigned a practice assignment either for remediation or enrichement, depending on how well they understand the content during that session.
