About David
I have been teaching high school math for 6 years, from city schools, to college prepatory, and am now focusing soley on tutoring. I began my career in teaching in college, where as a engineering major I would tutor my friends on the dorm. Realizing I loved tutoring math, I switched to a B.S. in Mathematics and received my degree, started working in a school, and the rest is history!
I am now back in my home state of NY and excited to teach math in the Big Apple!
I love to help students get from where they are mathematically, to where they want to be. I love diagnosing the gaps in learning, filling those gaps, and then watching the students flourish moving forward. The stronger your core skills are in math, the better your springboard for future math classes!
I have taught professionally for 6 years, from city schools to college-preparatory boarding schools. I began my career in teaching as a college tutor, and have tutored for the past ten years since then.

I usually like to have students bring their school work so I can see the expectations of their classroom teacher. It is also nice to know the NEXT TOPIC they will be covering in class, so I can prepare them for class, increasing comprehension, and instilling confidence in their ability.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
"What do I know how to solve, and at what point do I get lost" is a great thing to know before asking a teacher for help. If a teacher can know where your understanding starts and stops, it helps us help you! The more we know the better we can help you :)
