About Eashan

I used to struggle with math a lot when I was in school. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't seem to grasp the concepts. It was frustrating and I started to lose confidence in my ability to do well in the subject.

However, everything changed when I met my AP Calculus AB teacher during my junior year of high school. He was patient, kind, and most importantly, he was able to explain the concepts in a way that finally clicked for me. He taught me how to think about math as a concept that can be applied to other aspects of my life, rather than a subject that needs to be learned since I'm in school. I finally started to understand math and my grades improved significantly.

I realized that I had a newfound love for math and I wanted to help others who were struggling like I had been. After graduating from Rutgers University, I decided to become a math tutor and have been helping students ever since. It's been such a rewarding experience and I'm grateful to my teacher for showing me that anyone can succeed in math with the right support.

I used to struggle with math a lot when I was in school. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't seem to grasp the concepts. It was frustrating and I started to lose confidence in my ability to do well in the subject.

However, everything changed when I met my AP Calculus AB teacher during my junior year of high school. He was patient, kind, and most importantly, he was able to explain the concepts in a way that finally clicked for me. He taught me how to think about math as a concept that can be applied to other aspects of my life, rather than a subject that needs to be learned since I'm in school. I finally started to understand math and my grades improved significantly.

After graduating from Rutgers University, I decided to become a math tutor and have been helping students ever since. It's been such a rewarding experience and I'm grateful to my teacher for showing me that anyone can succeed in math with the right support.

I have been tutoring for 4 years. I started my journey during my freshman year of college and have developed skills in the past 4 years that enables me to customize the learning experience of each individual student.

About the lesson

1. Assessing the student's current level of understanding: This includes identifying any areas of strength or weakness, as well as getting a sense of the student's learning style, goals, and motivations.

2. Developing a customized plan: Based on the assessment, I will create a personalized study plan that targets the student's specific needs and goals. This may include a combination of one-on-one instruction, practice problems, and educational resources such as textbooks or online tutorials.

3. Providing regular feedback: I believe it is important to regularly check in with the student to see how they are progressing and address any questions or concerns they may have. This may involve providing feedback on practice work, offering additional explanations or examples, and adjusting the study plan as needed.

4. Encouraging independent learning: While I am happy to provide support and guidance, I also encourage my students to take an active role in their own learning and to seek out additional resources and opportunities for practice and growth.

5. Evaluating progress: At regular intervals, I like to assess the student's progress to see how they are doing and make any necessary adjustments to the study plan. This may involve giving quizzes, administering practice tests, or simply reviewing the student's work to see what they have learned and what areas may still need improvement.

I have worked with students of all ages, demographics, and regions given that I tutor online only. I have also tutored students with ADHD and dyslexia with the goal of providing alternative ways of thinking about the subject so they can understand what type of studying style works for them.

Here is some advice I would give a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise:

1. Consider the teacher's teaching style: Different people learn in different ways, so it is important to find a teacher whose teaching style is a good match for your learning style. Consider whether you prefer a more hands-on, interactive approach or a more traditional lecture-style approach.

2. Communicate your goals and expectations: Make sure to communicate your goals and expectations for the tutoring sessions to the teacher. This will help ensure that the teacher can tailor their approach to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals.

3. Don't be afraid to try multiple teachers: If you are not happy with the first teacher you work with, don't be afraid to try a different one. It may take some trial and error to find the right fit, but it is important to find a teacher who is a good match for you and your learning style.

I recently met one of my students who has ADHD and dyslexia in person. While teaching her, I used real world examples and even walked outside with her to teach her to think of math in different ways using ordinary day to day objects like pencils and houses. Seeing her finally start to understand the math topics and connecting with her work is by far one of my fondest and recent moments!

1. What are your goals for the tutoring sessions? Do you want to improve your grades, prepare for a test, or learn a new subject from scratch? Having clear goals will help you communicate your needs to the teacher and ensure that you are getting the most out of the sessions.

2. What is your current level of understanding of the subject? Do you have a strong foundation in the subject, or do you need to start from the basics? Knowing your starting point will help the teacher tailor their approach to meet your needs.

3. What are your learning strengths and challenges? Do you learn best through hands-on activities or through lectures? Do you have difficulty with certain concepts or types of problems? Understanding your learning strengths and challenges will help the teacher tailor their approach to your needs.

4. What is your schedule and availability? Do you have a lot of free time or are you very busy? Knowing your availability will help the teacher schedule sessions that work for you.
