About Micah

My name is Micah, and I have been private tutoring students for more than 5 years. I graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and I am currently a graduate student at USC studying Public Health. I have been in school for a very long time, so I understand a student's frustration when they have to take subjects that they struggle with or don't understand why they even have to take it. I have worked with many students one-on-one, and I will always do my best to work with your current strengths and learning styles to help you succeed in your learning endeavours.

My first experience with tutoring was when I was involved in a work experience program at my high school. After school, I would go to our neighboring elementary school and assist students with their homework. I have been tutoring students ever since, and I really enjoy this type of work because I love being able to see students have their "lightbulb" moments when they finally begin to understand the lesson. I can see them become more confident in their capabilites and are able to complete the rest of their homework or studies in ease. I truly understand the feeling of accomplishment when everything begins to make sense, and I love being able to help students get to that point.

I started tutoring at an afterschool program at a neighboring elementary school when I was in high school. I have continued to tutor ever since then because I love helping students succeed with their studies.

I have been tutoring for a long time and I like to work with students' individual strengths. I change the way that I teach depending on the students' learning style.

About the lesson

I like working on student's homework with them and reviewing concepts that might not make sense along the way. That way, we can just focus on areas where the students struggle rather than going over everything.

Primarily elementary/middle school (5th-8th grade) and high school students.
