About Jay
I have a BS in math and physics and an MS in engineering. I also have direct experience in both one-on-one tutoring and classroom instruction for math and physics. My instruction style is focused on directly addressing student needs. I can provide support for homework questions, answer general questions and review key concepts, or we can simply work through practice problems together.
My favorite part is when a student has an "aha" moment and says "wow, that's so much easier to understand now that you explain it that way". This kind of moment is really gratifying to me because it tells me that the student really understands the concepts and is not just memorizing formulas. This is really the goal of my tutoring sessions, and this kind of success moment is why I love to tutor.
