About Taylor

I am a young teacher fresh out of grad school, who has a reputation for making great connections with my students. I have taught everything from basic High School Math and Science, up to AP Calculus, and AP Physics II. I am certified to teach both Math and Physics in PA. During the time of the pandemic, I have adapted to online learning. Because of this, I am comfortable with both in-person or online tutoring.

Teaching is a passion-driven job, and that is why I am in this field. I have been passionate about teaching and tutoring since before I was even in High School. There is a special feeling you get when someone understands a tough concept, especially those in the fields of math and science. I also love attempting to help students make connections to the real world, to see how math and physics apply to many jobs out there, and is necessary to keep the world going, especially in the age of technology.

I started at a daycare during my years in college as I worked towards obtaining my content area and education degrees. From there I went from substitute teaching, to student teaching, to long-term substitute teaching, to being a classroom teacher.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education. I am also certified to teach Math and Science in PA. I currently teach Physics and Engineering at a Public School.

About the lesson

When working with a new student, by far the most important step is to diagnose where the student currently is in their course. Afterwards, the next step is to find out where and why the student is struggling with the material. Lastly, we then take a step back and look at the bigger picture, and see where we have to go and how to stay ahead of the material before the student falls behind again.

I have worked with students from K-12 during my experiences. I have experience with AP students, as well as IEP and specific needs students.
