About Massimo

Having a tutor can be awkward or embarrassing, I understand. I take a 50/50 approach with my clients. I am not teaching down to them, we are learning the concepts together.

I simply like to help people, and watching clients have that "a-ha" moment is one of the most rewarding things I have experienced.

I started tutoring other students my age in highschool and I really liked helping people who were struggling. We're all on the same ride, trying to get to the same destination, so we might as well help eachother get there. That was my approach.

I attended a regular math tutoring group pretty much every morning throuhgout highschool. My freshman year, I went in as a student. By my sophomore year I was teaching in it.

About the lesson

I like to understand what they know and their approach to learning what they do not know. I don't like making them do unnecessary work. I always just talk to them briefly about what they want to learn, and how they can be the most comfortable while doing so.

I've worked with mainly highschool students, but I am very familiar with junior high students as well. I taught my younger sister a lot when she was in 8th grade, which led me to working with other students in her class as well.

Look for someone you think you could be friends with, put the tutoring second. If you aren't comfortable with the person teaching you, you won't learn anything. Look for someone you think you can connect with personally. You want to avoid seeing this person as a teacher first and a friend second, it should be the other way around.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about the type of teaching styles that work best for them. If you are a visual learner, make sure anyone you work with knows that, same things goings with a vocal learner. Make sure your teacher knows how you are most comfortable being taught.
