About Yvonda

My service stands out because I have many years of experience working with youth from Pre-K thru 12th grade. I started tutoring in my home working with elementary students.

What I enjoy about the work I do is inspiring youth to want to be successful.

I started out teaching Sunday school at church in my twenties. My of my friends began offering to pay me to tutor their kids out of my Mom's home. I then began to work for a pilot program called the "Wrap Around Services" that offered tutoring services to at-risk youth. I was paid $20/hr. around 2013-2014

I am currently working with youth in a drug treatment facility in the education department. I assist the students in all subjects, whether they are working on Virtual Arkansas where I am a class facilitator or acquiring their G.E.D.

I have worked in a high school setting for over five years. assisting students in the SPED department and subing many subjects. My strengths are in Math and English.

Finding out in advance where the student feels as if they are struggling and fill-in the gaps

I would advise the student to know exactly where they stand in the class as far as grades.

Take great notes in class write down everything the teacher writes down.

Stay positive and ask for help.
