About Bonfilius

My teaching is highly interactive. I raise a question and explore it with the student. In this process the student gets a deep insight. I test the student's understanding by posing questions at different levels. I give heaps of practice material to reinforce what was learnt

What I enjoy most is seeing student grasp concepts and being able to apply the knowledge gained with confidence.

I have a passion for teaching. Ever since I completed my degree, I have been tutoring.

I have a master's degree in Physics and Mathematics. I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Education frm the University of Colombo.

On top of these I have over 10 years teaching experience in the UK and UAE.

I have been doing online tutoring since 2000 March.

About the lesson

First an evaluation to see what the student already knows. Find out the weak areas and give sufficient practice to overcome them.

Then introduce the new topic via discussion

I have worked with students all over the globe, including the UK, USA, Emirates and India.

Check if the teacher can pitch the lesson to the requirements of the student. See if the teacher is giving reinforcement for what is learnt.

Recently I was invited as the Chief guest for a prize giving function at a school where I had taught for over 6 years.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The student should be clear about what he/she knows and the areas which are unclear. The pacing of the lesson is also important because different people have different grasping abilities.
