About VanNessa

I absolutely love supporting social and emotional growth in students. The moment confidence and joy toward learning grows, subject areas become unstoppable. I've been teaching elementary school children for 21 years and I love it; math is my specialty but I really enjoy reading as well. Let's talk about ways to support your learner.

What I love most is making lasting relationships with each family I work with. My goal is to support my learners and to see them matriculate as quickly as they feel comfortable but I'm always there if something else is needed along the way. Knowing that a child feels confident and capable is the silver lining for me; that's when I know my work is done.

I love-love-love working with young people and initially I went to college intent on becoming a pediatric trauma surgeon! During my junior year a professor saw something in me and asked me to take an education class; it was history at that point, I never looked back. This has been the best choice for me because I love and respect my craft and the families I get to work with. I started my business in 2008 as a before and after school program and it has blossomed into a full community resource since.
