About Alisha
I’m currently a Medical Student, who received 4/4 university offers, with all A*s at A Level and with scores in the top 10% in both admissions tests (UCAT & BMAT). I have 1.5 years experience as a Private Tutor, and also 2 years of experience as a Teaching Assistant in schools. Through this, I have developed a teaching style that combines the best of both; working with students in a personalised way that works for them, whilst having a clear understanding of what formal education requires of students. I offer tutoring for students who want to get into Medical School. This involves tailored interview practice and personal statement support. I enjoy being able to simplify concepts clearly, working with students interactively and giving them detailed feedback. I don’t just focus on the admissions content itself, but on providing you with top tips from experience, to become a well-rounded applicant. Additionally, I previously ran a wide-reaching platform, which helped students to develop effective study techniques, work on self-development and other key skills. I aim to be a Personal Mentor for all students - working with you to set personal goals, develop effective strategies and to check up on your progress regularly. If you’re looking for someone to tutor you both to get into medical school and/or in your personal goals, I’d love to work with you to do this.

Examples of lessons I offer: - Mock interview practice & specific advice (MMI/Panel style) - Personal statement reviews & detailed feedback - Personal development goal with specific action steps & techniques Each lesson is tailored around exactly what you want to gain from the lesson. The lesson provides a structured yet interactive approach to tackling your chosen aspect of the admissions process. Whether you would like to practise interview questions or be given specific advice on certain question types, I am happy to individualise the session to suit your needs. I also use sessions to review your personal statement, provide detailed feedback and give you action steps and top tips to help you perfect it! Lessons are usually 1 hour, but students may further benefit from 1.5 hour sessions, depending on your aims for the lesson e.g. thorough interview practice may require longer sessions. You can also book in sessions or use part of a session, to help mentor you in other goals you want to achieve - such as effective study techniques, goal setting and time management. These ‘soft’ skills are invaluable in becoming a strong medical applicant and beyond.
