About Amie
I have been in the healthcare field for almost 20 years in a variety of roles ranging from patient tech to RN, in a multitude of care settings. I have experience in acute care, long-term care, corporate education, public education, and in writing NCLEX-style test questions.
I have a passion for teaching the art and science of nursing, including anatomy and physiology. I love to see my students grow daily in their understanding and watch as their passion for this field grows as mine did. Helping you make sense of topics or finding new ways to remember them absolutely makes my day and I love to celebrate with you!
I have been a nurse for almost 15 years, and have provided formal education for 10 of those years. The biggest hurdle for any recent new grad is passing your NCLEX. It's not just a test of your knowledge, it's a test of your critical thinking skills and it takes strategy to pass it!

I get so much joy out of seeing a student be able to grasp a concept they were unsure of, or learn a new skill, or feel confident to go into their exam! Helping future nurses in their journey to become a great nurse is truly something I feel called to do, and I count myself blessed to have been a part of so many student's paths to greatness.
One of my positions was a nurse consultant for a group of supported living homes, and as a part of that job I was responsible for training new employees (that typically had no healthcare background) how to take care of people, help them with their ADL's, administer medicince, etc... and I quikly found that it was my favorite part of my job, so I began to look for opportunities that would allow me to do that on a full time basis.
I have been in healthcare for almost 20 years, with 15 years as a nurse, and 10 years in corporate healthcare and secondary/post-secondary nursing education. I am experienced in differentiated education, being able to help students of various learning styles understand the materials. I am also experienced in writing and helping decode the mysterious NCLEX style questions.

My first goal is to learn about you and your goals. What do you want to get out of our time together and how can we best spend that time? Once we have goals established then we can move forward with getting you ready to take your NCLEX.
I have worked with students ranging from 16-60+ years of age with various levels experience in healthcare.
