About Suzanne

How may I help you achieve your goals? Let’s get there together! My passion is truly in education. We are nurses by profession...but what people may not realize is that patient and family education is about 80% of what we do on a daily basis! Laying a good foundation in your early years of nursing will serve you and your patients well for a long time. Together we will build your skills, knowledge base, and confidence! You can do this!

I’m a registered nurse with nearly 9 years of experience in dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal, acute and chronic). Since I love to learn new things, I also spent time floating in med-surg as well as the infusion unit. I have extensive experience as a nurse preceptor. In my daily work, I teach patients how to perform their dialysis treatments at home, continually assess my patients, assist their families, work with insurance companies, and much more.

I have a BSN and am a certified nephrology nurse- which takes continuing education above and beyond the requirements of both my employer and licensing requirements. As I practice in a border city, I am licensed to practice in NY and PA. I also have a master’s degree in experimental psychology, and have taught courses as a graduate assistant. I have extensive experience editing papers and reviewing assignments as part of that responsibility.

I have previous experience in teaching undergraduate classes as a teaching assistant and held office hours for personalized attention.

About the lesson

When we first talk, I want to get an idea of your individual needs, your strengths, and things you would like to work on. Most of all, I want to get to know how YOU learn best. From there, we can get into specific subject matter.

Nurses, patients, and families, as well as undergraduate psychology and criminal justice students.

My 6 year old daughter danced in the St. Patrick’s Day parade with her Irish dance class! She had so much fun and grew so much since last year. Her confidence was amazing!
