About Rebecca
I have a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a master's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at UW Madison, I taught voice lessons to non-music majors for 3 semesters. I have experience performing and teaching in many different styles, and I try my best to give each of my students a good understanding of how to use their voice correctly, and then apply those tools to any style of music they wish to sing.
Music has always been my greatest passion, and I love seeing my students discover their own musical passions. Seeing them succeed brings me so much joy!
I started teaching in 2015, when I was given a teaching assisstantship at the Unviersity of Wisconsin-Madison. I taught non-music major undergraduate students for three semeseters during my graduate studies.

I begin with asking them about their experience with singing, asking what kinds of styles they are interested in, which languages they know, etc. I would then vocalize the student, getting an ear for their voice and assessing how we could work to improve from there.
I have worked with students who want to learn all types of styles: musical theatre, classical, opera, jazz, etc.
Look for someone who you connect with/feel comfortable with. Voice is often such a personal instrument to coach/teach/use. I feel that your voice teacher should be someone you trust and feel comfortable with.
