About Isabel
I have worked as a portrait, wedding and fine art photographer since 2000. I have also taught high school students dark room work (film), digital techniques (Photoshop and in camera), outdoor photography, and the art of studio photography.
For the last few years, I have stepped back from the field to write a novel. I still enjoy teaching occasionally if the student and I are the right fit!

I was asked if I would teach introduction to Photography to some 9th graders in the North Kitsap Options Program.
I have taught mini-class sessions for years to junior and high school students. These included studio lighting, Photoshop work, how to take a great photograph, dark room work (back in the film days), and digital photography tips and tricks.

I like to find out his/her short and long term goals; what they hope to learn and what some of their artistic sensibilities are. I also want to learn about their equipment, and what their availability is for sessions.
Middle and high school students mostly, although I tutored adults in the “Shoot Wild Kitsap” program a few years back.
Be clear going in about what you’d like to learn.
I shot Antelope Canyon in northern Arizona early this summer~a true photographer’s dream!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Come with a list of camera equipment as well as software you expect to use. Spend some time looking at photographs you admire and be prepared to share them with the teacher so goals can be created on what to aspire to.
