About Neil
In this time of social distancing, I am able to conduct classes face to face over zoom in order to get a true perspective of their abilities and goals. I remember starting out and I understand the steps that one must go through to reach their potential. Also, I am a professional photographer for the U.S. Army, so I know what it means to work to get the money shot.
My photographic niche is working with full figured women who have been often overlooked and have thus a low self esteem. I use my photography to show them how beautiful they are no matter their size. I beleive everyone has the right to be happy and feel good about themselves.
I have been a photographer for 40 years; I have a degree in photography from Howard University; I worked as a professional photographer for George Mason University from 1991 - 2000; I worked as a photo-editor for America Online from 2001 - 2003; I worked as a photographer for the Inspector General for the Department of Defense; my business, Neil Adams Photography is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and a member of the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce; I have taught photography at the high school and college level. If you are just beginning with photography, I can help you learn the craft through hands on excercises.

When working with a new student, I first ask them about their experience with photography if any; I ask if they have a camera and if they have used it before; I ask to see the pictures they have taken. Finally I ask what they hope to gain from these lessons. I then ask to set up a first meeting in person or online for a face to face meeting.
