About Valerie

I am currently a graduate student working towards my Doctor of Physical therapy, or DPT. I have extensive knowledge in anatomy/physiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, and neuroscience/neuroanatomy. In undergrad, I did very well with statistics, chemistry, and physics and even tutored chemistry. I love using the big picture and tying it back to the little details to fully understand subjects and hope to facilitate that learning in those I tutor. I will meet you where you are and match your learning style to the best of my abilities.

I have an Bachelor of Science, with a major in Exercise Science. I am currently in a doctorate program for physical therapy. I also tutored chemistry in college.

About the lesson

I like to start by asking my students about how they prefer to learn and what they are looking for in a tutor. Typically students will bring questions from their notes or homework and that is our starting point. My goal is to help you with what you need. If you are struggling overall and don't have specific questions, we can go through the material together and find what areas are most difficult.

I have experience with freshman and sophomores in college taking general chemistry. My graduate school has the second-year students tutor the 1st-year students in a group setting for anatomy and neuroscience, so I also have experience with tutoring from the student perspective.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what concepts you are having difficulty with, and think about what you would like in a tutor. You can tell me what you need from me and I am here to help.
