About Corrin

Corrin Simpson is a professional piano teacher with over 20 years of experience. She offers lessons for kids and adults in her studio. She offers 20/20/20 Classes as of 2019 and teaches KiddyKeys for preschoolers.

I enjoy meeting new people and developing relationships. As this grows, so does your trust. I push my students only as far as they can handle. I like to see what you are capable of doing musically, and I like to be challenged also.

I taught a few students just after graduating high school, and continued to teach a couple throughout the next 18 years. 2 years ago, I turned teaching into my full time job, and have a passion for teaching. I love my students and currently have 42 who come to my house. I have one FaceTime student.

About the lesson

I enjoy meeting new students and talking about their goals. I would like to know what motivates you to take lessons, and what kind of music you enjoy. If you are new to piano, we start at the beginning! It does depend on age as to what method books we use.

I currently teach ages 5 through adult.

Ask the teacher how long they have been teaching. Just because they play well, does not mean they teach well. Find out how dedicated they are. I have had students come to me from previous teachers who would cancel every other lesson. That is not professional. Also, if you have in person lessons, your teacher should not be sitting on their phone during lessons. It is your time.

Our previous recital had 21 students, and we had a Star Wars theme. Currently, we are working on a Disney themed recital, with 39 students, and you can keep up with our progress through my Facebook page.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Do you have a piano? Are you willing to make a commitment? Are you willing to practice regularly. Are you willing to purchase new materials as the lessons progress? If you have already taken lessons in the past, please let the prospective teacher know where you left off/where you currently are in your playing. Also, let the new teacher know what type of books you already have, or took lessons from.
