About Stacy

I have been playing the piano for almost 40 years! (Yikes...that shows my age...) I am a Colorado state-certified Spanish teacher, with more than 15 years of teaching experience. I love playing the piano and teaching, even better when I can combine both!

My lessons are unique because I have an extensive piano library in my home, and the cost of books is included in the lesson fee. This can save parents $100s over the course of lessons! I am able to choose different books for different students, and tailor their music to their interests. If a student doesn't like a book or song, no problem! We just choose another book from the library. Students and parents seem to love my piano library as much as I do!

Friends heard me play and asked me if I gave lessons. I replied, "Now I do!"

About the lesson

I talk to parents on the phone first to find out more about the student. Then, we start with a free 30-minute consultation to see if it's a good fit between student and teacher. I talk with the student and parents about a plan for student success and from there, we learn to play the piano!

All ages, from 6 years to 60 years old. One little girl is autistic, and was non-verbal until recently. Now she is learning to play the piano! An older man is a kidney transplant recipient, so is on medication for life which causes tremors in his hands. He too is learning to play the piano! I am so proud of these students.

I played an end-of-the-year concert at the Blind School of Colorado Springs. It was music for healing from my debut CD, describing my journey of recovery from a traumatic brain injury sustained in a bad car accident 2 years ago. A tween-age girl in the first row raised her hand and said she was sorry for what happened to me, but was glad I came to their school to give a concert. Her maturity, words, and courage brought tears to my eyes.
