About Megan

I offer piano lessons for all ages from toddlers to adults! I also provide theory lessons, improvisation lessons, and aural skill development within the lesson. I provide advanced lessons to students who have taken the piano longer. I absolutely love teaching and I take advantage of any opportunity to teach! I am currently working towards my national certification for teaching piano and am currently attending Cedarville University for a degree in Piano Pedagogy.

I have been learning the piano since I was three years old and pretty much my whole life I have been explaining various subjects of the piano to friends. I didn't start charging for lessons until I was at college and in my degree.

I am currently attending Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio working towards a degree in Piano Pedagogy. I have taught through the school and have been involved in several different teaching environments such as one-on-one lessons, group lessons, and collegiate level lessons.

About the lesson

I begin by getting to know my student and them getting to know me as well. Teaching is not a one-way street where I tell the student what to do and they do it. Good teaching requires understanding how the student works and in what environment best works for them to learn the best! With my new students, I begin a process of teaching different styles in order to better understand what works best for the student.

I have worked with young students, my youngest being six. I am capable of working with younger. I have also worked with older students in high school and even in college. I work with all ages! I have also worked with students with learning disabilities and behavior disorders.

I would look for a teacher who is willing to change their teaching to fit your child or yourself. Learning from someone who only teaches one way that does not suit how you learn makes learning an instrument, or anything, very difficult. Someone who is also flexible and easy going is much more fun to work with than someone who is very rigid!

For a thirty minute lesson, I charge fifteen dollars. For an hour lesson, I charge thirty.
