About Kari

I have 62 years combined of experience in musical performance and teaching. I teach beginner through advanced, any age.

I have an AS degree from Dixie State College of Utah, and a BA from Charter Oak State College. I have served as the Principal Accompanist for the Colorado Mormon Chorale, and played for SINGERS Master Chorale and the Dixie Institute Choir. I have experience arranging and leading ensembles as well.

I love the supporting role, helping musicians sound their best and get all the credit they deserve.

Payment, Absence and Tardiness Policy

Payment for lessons can be made at each lesson, or for each month at the first lesson that month, whichever you prefer.

Lessons are scheduled for a particular time slot every week. Missing two or three weeks in a row is fine; no problem. If you need to change your lesson time permanently, please just let me know and the schedule can be rearranged.

There are no makeup lessons. A missed week is simply skipped. See you next week! Any time a week is skipped, whether because you cancel or because I declare a vacation, you need to continue to practice your last assigned lesson every day until your next lesson.

You may miss a lesson any time without being expelled from the studio. If you give me 24 hours’ notice, no fee will be charged and I will plan to see you the following week. If you simply fail to show up or notify me less than 24 hours in advance, I'll expect to be paid for that lesson.

If you arrive 1-15 minutes late, your lesson will go 30 minutes, etc. from the time you arrive. If you are more than 15 minutes late without notifying me 24 hours in advance, your lesson is cancelled and I'll expect to be paid for it.

If I travel to you and find you are not home, I’ll wait for 15 minutes, and lessons will go for 30 minutes, etc. from the time we begin. If no one is ready to take a lesson after 15 minutes, your lesson is cancelled and I’ll expect to be paid for it.

If you notify me in advance that you cannot come until 15 minutes or more into your lesson time, the lesson will be cancelled and no fee will be charged.

I do my best to notify you of lesson cancellations on my side more than 24 hours in advance. Regardless of when I cancel, if I let you know there won’t be a lesson, no money is owed.
