About Sandra

Piano Lessons

I am an experienced Christian piano teacher who will teach lessons at your home. Competitive Fees. Preferred area is in a radius of 7 miles from Main and Greenfield in Mesa.

I am a college music Major. and have taught private piano lessons for a total of approximately 12 years.

It is my pleasure to grow students, children and adults, in the expertise and joy of music!

Some of my students have created their own ccompositions. That is so exciting! One of them played hers at a recital. It sounded very profesional!

Though some are now teaching via computer, I am old-fashioned enough to want to give in person interaction. Each person has a different style of learning, so I key in to that so their lessons are individualized just for them. My students are not just a meal ticket, but valuable people into which I want to invest time and help them accomplish their goals.

It is always great to work with a student that is excited to learn how to play piano. It is so easy to work with them.

I love getting to know my students. That is how I can better serve each different individual, and how a great connection is made between us. I care about what they care about.

I feel great joy to be able to see them grow in expertise, and in the love of piano.

I have always loved music and took piano lessons as a child. Subsequently I studied piano and voice in college. I wanted to share what I learned with others who love music.

About the lesson

When I start a new student, I find out if they have had any music background. If so, I find out what type of background they have had. For instance, music class at school, prior piano lessons, other instruments. This gives me the proper starting point. I also make it a point to connect with the student, and get to know them. They need to know I value them as a person.

I have worked with students from 4 years old to adults.

I would tell a potential student that if you put yourself into your music rather than just thinking of it as something to learn, you will reach your goal much easier. That's why it is so great to see students who create their own melodies. This tells me they are all in!!

One of my students created a beautiful piano piece and played it at our last recital. I was very proud of her, and all the compliments she received.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is important to define a goal. Here are some questions to ask yourself: What do I want to accomplish with piano playing? What type of music excites me? Am I prepared to put in the time to learn, and to practice?

Details

I charge $25 for a 30 to 45 minute lesson. If there are 2 or more in the same family, I give a discount. Students can pay at each lesson, or for the whole month. I take payment by cash, check or money order. When paid ahead for the month, if there is sickness or another reason a student must miss a lesson, the amount for the missed lesson is applied to the next month.
