About Theresa

Hi, have a masters in music and have spots available. I am located near Harlem/Foster. I have been teaching for over 20 years. We have a yearly piano ensemble and recital. I cover ear training, technique, theory and performance email or call me if you are interested in more information. 🎶🎼

The Mrowka Piano Academy is dedicated to offering private piano instruction for all age levels on the Northwest side of Chicago of the highest caliber.

♪ Theresa G. Mrowka MM has taught piano for well over 20 years. Having taught hundreds of students, many have continued to advanced musical studies at university levels.

♪ Theresa has a Masters Degree of Music from DePaul University School of Music, and ranked top in her class at yearly competitions.

♪ Music Specialties: Piano (Lesson, Theory, Ear Training, Technique, Performance), Harmony, History, Science of Music Psychology, Composition.

♪ The primary goal of the academy is to provide expert and personalized teaching to students.

♪ Beginning students are taught to read music and the basics of harmony.

♪ There is a focus on ear training as well as theory and performance.

♪ The piano is approached with a natural hand position and a technique that focuses on flexibility.

♪ Students learn effective and productive practice techniques, and are trained to become self-sufficient pianists.

♪ Encouragement is given to make piano and music a part of everyday life, to enjoy lessons and to transfer the self-discipline and confidence gained in piano study to other aspects of life.

♪ This helps the students develop their inner voice and their own style.

♪ Besides studying works for solo pianos, students frequently team up to play duets.

♪ Each year the students participate in a Piano Solo Ensemble judged by Master pianists. All my students have continually received the highest superior ranking.

♪ This ensemble helps prepares all the students for a yearly spring recital, where they demonstrate their skills and receive trophies and pins for their participation. ♫♫♫♫
