About Wayne
I am an expert in my field. I have been teaching Piano for over 35 years. My students have won competitions and have gone on to be professional Grammy Award Winners.
I love watching the growth of a student learning to play the Piano. I applaud their efforts when they try and I also put fire under those who slack. I absolutely love what I do.
I started teaching while in graduate school at the church where I was the Pianist/Choir Director. Before then, I only concentrated on performance. Now I do both.
I am a college music professor with a bachelors and masters degree in Piano Performance. I have been teaching Piano lessons for over 35 years. I have won several local, state and national Piano Competitions. I have also written music books for Piano performance and arranged music for Piano Duets and Duos. My students have won Piano competitions as well. I am able to play various genres of music including Classical, Gospel, Blues, and other Popular music.

I first evaluate the students skill level to ensure a practical approach to learning to play the Piano. New students start from the beginning with basic music instruction such as learning the keys (identifying black key groups and white keys), how to sit at the piano, hand position and finger numbers. I progress from there to increase the ability of the student to play the Piano with a bit more confidence.
I have worked with a cross section of students from age 5 to adults.
Find a teacher whom you are comfortable with learning. Find someone who listens to your concerns about learning to play the Piano and has the ability to teach you correctly with passion and patience.
I recently performed a full length Piano Christmas Concert accompanied by an Orchestra. it was my 3rd Annual "Tis The Season...Christmas Concert.
