About Lia

My versatility, experience and formal training helps to make the learning experience easy, stress free and fun. I love to gear lessons towards the specific strengths and goals of each student.

I have an extensive musical theatre background, as well as experience and training in singing and songwriting for the more modern vocalist (pop/rock/jazz/R&B). While obtaining my Bachelor's degree, I took regular voice lessons from one of the leading vocal pedagogy experts in the world: Mary Saunders Barton. I also studied various aspects of music and performance, such as the art of auditioning, and music theory. I have spent many years performing in professional, regional musical theater productions, and am happy to work on auditions with my students. Currently, I play gigs regularly in my local area (Philadelphia) and write and record regularly. My songs have been licensed for national/international TV (E!, MTV, PBS, Netflix, and more), and most recently, an independent Italian film.

I absolutely love to watch my students connect to their voice in their own unique ways. Some thrive in a more traditional structure, and some thrive in a more creative, open type of lesson. But watching students of all ages fall deeper in love with music; watching them find their creative spark and grow their confidence - these are an absolute honor.

- 3 years teaching voice and piano lessons to ages 4-70

- Soul/Pop singer songwriter with touring experience

- BFA in Musical Theatre (voice, theory, audition prep, etc.)

- Experience performing in regional and touring musical theatre productions

- Music licensed to TV and film for use in programming

- Studied with one of the leading voice pedagogy teachers in the world

Lia is the right fit for my high school student. My daughter has been taking classic piano lessons since 4 years old. She has been looking for an instructor who will allow her to develop her creative side.

Lia customizes her lessons and has reignited my daughters love of piano.

Thanks, Lia.
