About Deborah

Along with performing, Deborah enjoys teaching the art of piano playing to all ages. The joy of music is within reach of everyone, no matter what age group or talent level!

Deb's music has been heard on 3 major TV shows: "The Big Bang Theory", "Madam Secretary" and "Desperate Housewives".

Added to this is Deborah's extensive performance background. She has served as the Ritz-Carlton Music Director in Phoenix, as well as having played at Ritz-Carltons and Hyatt-Regencies elsewhere in America, entertaining a President, a Vice-Presidential birthday party, gubernatorial inaugurations and for various United States Senators.

Besides entertaining wonderful audiences in private gatherings, she has also played for touring Broadway shows such as “Mama Mia”, “The Producers” and “Hairspray”. Her biggest audiences, ranging from 7,000 to 12,000 people, have come when she backed The Irish Tenors at Dodge Theatre, on their national tour, as well as the rock group The Moody Blues at America West Arena. Any “Phantom of the Opera” fans? Deborah has also worked with Michael Crawford, the original Broadway “Phantom” . Recently, she was on stage with Michael Feinstein and The Phoenix Symphony, to two sold-out concerts!

Deborah’s music has been heard on the radio in 14 European countries and is currently receiving airplay here in America, along with major television shows.

You can find Deb's CDs at iTunes, amazon.com, cdbaby.com, WatchFireMusic.com and of course, DebsPianoWeb.com : )

I love seeing the bright eyes of beginners, along with the talents that returning students bring to lessons. Creating and maintaining enthusiasm for music is my goal.

When in high school, a neighbor asked me to teach her child. I've never looked back....always have enjoyed working with those who love music and wish to learn.

I received my degree from University of Michigan and am a composer and performer, so these talents and experiences are brought into each lesson. Go to YouTube.com and type in MsDebOff to see a video of my "Keyboard & Komedy" show, for instance. Or visit my website to hear my various compositions from my CDs at (concealed information)

About the lesson

With brand new students, I like to work together for a few lessons before deciding which kind of material to purchase. The interests of the older student is also noted, so we can include pieces s/he may wish to learn.

For transfer students, I always assess strengths and weaknesses and start right away to untangle any snarls.

From ages 4 - 84 and from raw beginners to accomplished pianists wishing to branch out from classical into jazz.

Look for one that not only has solid teaching credentials (experience or a degree), but is well-rounded. Make sure the teacher doesn't just teach songs that the student wants to play, but that the instructor teaches himself (eventually) out of a job, giving you the theory and technique you need to progress over your lifetime.

My latest event was recording my New Age album in L.A.

CD debuts sometime in 2017.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Always ask what the practice requirements are; amount of music purchased over the course of a year; request a studio policy.

I started with Deb as an adult beginner (having had less than one year instruction as a child). She is an excellent musician and patient teacher who encourages me even when I have little time for lessons or practice. Definitely recommend her.

We love to share the great experience we have had with Deb's program. We have two of our children with Deb which has been very positive and encouraging. She keeps them engaged and focused. We are pleased with the progress they have achieved. With her experience you will get the best instruction for your student. She has a great way of working with children as young as they can start. We appreciate the way she can work with our schedules . We recommend her for any age of piano interest .
